Cardi B Apologizes After “Joking” About LAPD Stripping Her “Butt-Naked” Over Drugs And Weapons

Cardi B made wild claims on Monday (March 25) during an Instagram Live session that LAPD officers pulled her over and accused her of trafficking drugs and having a weapon in her car. She also claimed that the officers made her strip “butt-naked.”
Following the news spreading like wild fire, the “Like What” rapper apologized about telling the fabricated story, as it was only a “joke” and “taken out of context.”
Cardi B told her fans about the incident coincidentally around the same time that Diddy’s LA home was raided by the same police department. Social media immediately ran rampant with the news believing that Cardi had become a victim of police injustice.
“Ommmgggg noooo this was a joke ….I always do these jokes with my fans on station head I guess it don’t translate well on ig live …..and I guess I said it before you know [melting emoji] bad timing,” Cardi commented under The Breakfast Club‘s reporting of the fake news.
Cardi’s team also issued a statement to Billboard, doubling down that her LAPD story was not true. “This IG live was taken out of context and there is no truth to this story,” the statement simply read. “Apologies for any confusion.”
Initially, the Bronx star said to her fans, “You don’t even know what happened to me yesterday, like, y’all don’t even know. I got stopped by the cops and everything. I got stopped by the cops yesterday. You gon’ see, it’s gonna hit TMZ real soon. They thought I was trafficking. Yeah, they thought I was trafficking fentanyl. And they thought I had a gun in my car.”
Cardi then made claims that she was planning to take legal action the department.
“They had me getting butt-naked outside,” she alleged. “Sh*t was crazy. It was deada** a movie and whatever. But you already know I’m ’bout to sue the LAPD. They got me f**ked up for doing it. It was, like, some white cops or something. They didn’t know who I was so they was really tough on me and everything.”
She added that one of her opps “gave them a clue.” She said, “I already feel like it was one of my opps and sh*t. They really trying to ruin my life.”
