Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the superhero tentpole is the third installment in the standalone Captain America series and returns Chris Evans in the title role. A wide array of other Marvel superheroes appear in the film, including Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland.

If tracking is correct, Captain America 3 could score the fifth-best opening of all time, or better, for Disney and Marvel Studios behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($248 million), Jurassic World ($208.8 million), Marvel’s The Avengers ($207.4 million), and Avengers: Age of Ultron ($191.3 million).
