Spoiler alert! The following contains spoilers from the Oct. 7 episode of "The Masked Singer," including the identity of the unmasked celebrity.

Give it all ya got, Group A!

The four remaining challengers from the first group of celebrity contestants introduced on "The Masked Singer" premiere threw down Wednesday in the Group A playoffs. Popcorn, Giraffe, Snow Owls and Sun went head-to-head-to-head-to-head – or should we say mask-to-mask-to-mask-to-mask? – to progress in the singing competition.

Surprisingly, the first performance of the night actually came from comedian Joel McHale, a guest panelist for the evening, who made his entrance in a Robin Thicke mask and even offered his best version of "Blurred Lines" before being cut off by host Nick Cannon to "spare" the audience. McHale joined the show's usual sleuths – Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Thicke – to do some detective work, which included deciphering clues delivered via drone.

Popcorn

Popcorn, hot and ready.
Popcorn, hot and ready.

Clues: Popcorn shared that when she was young, she had a "bizarre condition" that affected her way of life.

"I couldn't eat or sleep," she said. "I developed severe anxiety and felt like I was in an emotional prison until I dug deep in my pop-core and found my voice, which led me away from the drama to the other side."

Cats and candles that formed the number 16 were shown in her clue package, as were a hair crimper and Rubik's cube, which McCarthy interpreted as a nod to the ’80s. For her performance, Popcorn hoped to enamor the panel with Harry Styles' "Falling." Following her song, a drone flew through carrying a planet. "The second rock from the sun may be far away," Popcorn said, "but it should bring you closer to me."

Guesses: McHale thought of singer Gloria Gaynor, while Jeong ventured a much more unlikely guess, "Teenage Dream" Katy Perry. McCarthy suspected actress/singer Vanessa Williams. And popping into the guessing game, we would like to enter Taylor Dayne into the mix. The "Tell It to My Heart" artist certainly fits the clue from the season premiere, being someone who "built a career around love" with songs like "Love Will Lead You Back" and "Prove Your Love." She also battled anxiety as a child.

Giraffe

Giraffe's neck is on the line.
Giraffe's neck is on the line.

Clues: Giraffe revealed that he recently suffered a health crisis. "I had a terrifying episode that really scrambled my brain," he said. "I could barely walk or talk, but I'm a fighter, and I defeated my invisible predator."

There also appears to be a connection with Fox, the costume of Wayne Brady, winner from Season 2 of "The Masked Singer," and peaches.

Following Giraffe's performance of "Get Down On It" by Kool & The Gang, a drone showcased a domino featuring two groups of four dots, for eight total.

"That was a really important tile to me," said Giraffe, "but does it help you guys score my identity?"

Guesses: Thicke envisioned Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, and McHale thought the contestant could be "Party of Five" actor Scott Wolf. Scherzinger and Jeong suspected "The Peanut Butter Falcon" star Shia LaBeouf. We (figuratively) haven't got a clue!

Snow Owls

The Snow Owls: Can birds of a feather flock to the finals together?

Clues: Objects in the package hinted at the identity of the pair – a bright pink "D," an anchor that had "MANagement" written across it, and a basketball showing "DAL." In addition, the male Snow Owl spoke of "a messy breakup" before the two, taking the stage, sang "Like I'm Gonna Lose You," by Meghan Trainor, featuring John Legend.

Providing further insight to a witch's hat paraded by the drone, the Snow Owls said, "We will tip our hats to … which (or witch) ever one of you figures out the clue."

Guesses: Jeong, continuing his habit of throwing out far-fetched guesses went with "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga" stars Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams. McHale and McCarthy leaned into the country realm, guessing artists Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood and "The Fighter" singer Keith Urban and actress Nicole Kidman, respectively. We believe it's country musician Clint Black and actress/singer Lisa Hartman Black, based on the contestants' voices. Also, Hartman Black starred on "Tabitha," the short-lived ’70s "Bewitched" spin-off about Samantha Stephens' magical daughter. Additionally, a pearl clue could be a reference to the couple's daughter, Lily Pearl.

Sun

See the Sun shine.
See the Sun shine.

Clues: In her clue package, Sun revealed that she was raised in "a fractured home." She also burned a piece of paper with "ugly rumors" written on it.

As for objects, there appears to be meaning behind a spider in an hourglass, candy canes and a lock of hair.

After Sun belted out a powerful rendition of Kesha's "Praying," a drone-delivered 8-ball continued the clue package's otherworldly theme.

"Will this Magic 8-ball help you conjure up my identity? Outlook not so hot," Sun said.

Guesses: McCarthy wondered if the star could be Mandy Moore and Thicke thought of "American Idol" alum Katharine McPhee. Scherzinger guessed "Cry Pretty" singer Carrie Underwood. We have no guesses and are left feeling scorched by this mystery.

The elimination

It seems Giraffe is no longer neck and neck with his fellow Group A competitors. The challenger was eliminated.

The panelists' first-impression guesses at his identity were revealed, and then they gave their final guesses. Jeong initially thought of Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am, but Wednesday stuck with his earlier guess of LaBeouf. Scherzinger doubled-down on her first guess of race car driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. while McCarthy had a change of heart. She ditched her original guess of Barker for actor Seth Green. At first, Thicke went with "Family Matters" star Jaleel White, but Wednesday bet on Barker. McHale suspected former "Beverly Hills, 90210" resident Jason Priestley.

When the mask came off, the panel members were absolutely floored. None guessed right and Thicke appeared the most shocked of all, covering his face with his hands in surprise when Brian Austin Green was revealed.

"You guys were all so close but so far," Austin Green said to the panelists, adding to Thicke: "You were the robin on my shoulder in the (clues) package."

"We were best friends as teenagers," Thicke said. "I used to go to the '90210' set with him all the time. I love you. I can't believe that's you."

For Giraffe's final performance, the "Lost Without U" singer even joined him on stage.
