Take a canoe tour of Summit Lake, Ohio & Erie Canal

The Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition is hosting the 2022 Canoe Adventure on Summit Lake and the Ohio & Erie Canal on Saturday, July 16.

Participants will receive a guided interpretive tour of Summit Lake and portions of the Ohio & Erie Canal, with guides providing updates on the Ohio & Erie Canalway, Towpath Trail and connector trails.

The cost is $30 for adults and $10 for children under 12 years old. All equipment is provided, along with drinks and refreshments.

Participants will meet at the Summit Lake park pavilion, 390 W. Crosier St., Akron. Groups of no more than five canoes will depart in staggered timeslots between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Participants can sign up for their preferred timeslot. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and space in each group is limited.
