Candy Cane Lane is going to make you want to swap the popcorn for a sweet treat!

Amazon is giving Christmas-movie lovers an early present this season with the release of its holiday original in early December.

Eddie Murphy stars in the film as Chris, a man who finds himself in quite the yuletide pickle after making a Christmas wish that brings some unwanted consequences. According to a synopsis of the film, he's "on a mission to win his neighborhood’s annual Christmas home decoration contest."

Murphy, who's making his holiday-genre debut, stars alongside Tracee Ellis Ross, who plays his wife in the festive film directed by Reginald Hudlin (who previously worked with Murphy on his 1992 movie Boomerang).

"I can say confidently you've never seen a holiday movie like this," Hudlin told PEOPLE in an exclusive first-look interview in October. "We have jump scares, car chases and kung-fu fighting, plus all the holiday feels."

"I can’t wait for the world to see Candy Cane Lane," Hudlin previously said in a statement. "I’ve wanted to make a Christmas movie my whole life, but I wanted to do something fresh and surprising."
