After a recent rumor about Eternals 2, fans want to know which other movies Marvel has canceled so far. Here’s a list of all the films that Marvel planned to make, but ended up canceling them.

List of canceled Marvel Cinematic Universe movies

War Machine

Don Cheadle previously stated that initially, Marvel was trying to do a War Machine movie and even hired Joe Robert Cole to write the script. However, the plans changed based on how Iron Man 3’s story was crafted. Nevertheless, the new series Armor Wars, centered on Don Cheadle’s War Machine, has been greenlit and has since been changed into a feature film.

Inhumans

After Phase 2, Marvel announced its entire Phase 3 slate, which went through quite a few changes. Among them was Inhumans which would have arrived in 2019. Following this, Marvel Studios decided to turn it into a series and handed it over to Marvel TV. However, after the poor reception and reviews of the show, ABC canceled it after 1 season.

Rumored – Eternals 2, Ant-Man 4, and Captain Marvel 3

A recent scoop from DanielRPK suggests that Marvel will not be moving forward with sequels to Ant-Man 3 and The Marvels as both of them have proven to be massive box office flops. Furthermore, Marvel is seemingly not moving forward with Eternals 2 either as Disney isn’t willing to take any more risks. However, since this information doesn’t officially come from Marvel, it needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Non-MCU Marvel movies

Besides these MCU-based projects, several other Marvel-based non-MCU movies were canceled by Fox and Sony in the past. The list includes:

  • Daredevil 2 (Ben Affleck’s sequel)

  • Hulk 2 (Eric Bana’s sequel)

  • The Punisher 2 (Thomas Jane’s sequel)

  • Punisher: War Zone 2

  • Spider-Man 4

  • Topher Grace’s Venom spinoff

  • X-Men Origins: Magneto

  • Fantastic Four 3

  • Fant4stic 2

  • Silver & Black
