Here’s the good news: There are still good tickets available for Los Angeles Lakers fans who want to attend Kobe Bryant’s jersey retirement. Here’s the bad news: It’s going to cost you a lot of money.

With just hours to go before Bryant’s numbers are retired by the Lakers, there is still at least one courtside seat available for purchase. Problem is, you better be willing to spend roughly $31,000 to get it.

For all of you trying to save up for the holidays, there are cheaper seats available, but even those run pretty high. A cheapest lower level ticket is going for $685.68.

By comparison, if you want to buy lower level tickets for a game against the Charlotte Hornets in January, you can get those for $95.97 on Stubhub. It’s not exactly the same. The Lakers are playing the Golden State Warriors on Monday, so you would expect those tickets to be high. But you can bet Bryant’s number retirement fed into the inflated price.

If you’re willing to hold out, it’s possible those prices will go down as the game gets closer. It’s also possible that someone will capitalize, snag them now and leave you sitting at home.

That’s probably not the worst outcome, though. It doesn’t cost anything to sit at home, and the beverages are a lot cheaper.
