Cameron Boyce Suffered From Epileptic Seizures, Autopsy Will Be Done Based On Star's Age

Cameron Boyce kept it hidden from the public, but the star quietly suffered from epilepsy for some time before a seizure related to the illness took his life.

Law enforcement sources tell The Blast, Boyce had a history of epileptic seizures, and his family relayed that information to investigators after the young star died.

As we reported, an autopsy is scheduled for the 20-year-old, and we're told even though his family strongly believes the seizure was what killed him, officials still need to complete a thorough investigation due to his young age.

The autopsy could begin as early as Monday, and will also include a full toxicology and blood tests to determine if he had anything in his system at the time of death. The results from those tests could take several weeks to determine an official cause of death.

After Boyce died on Saturday at his home in Los Angeles, his family released a statement and revealed some of his medical condition.

"He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated," Boyce's family said.

They added, "The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him."

Since his passing stars have been flooding social media with tributes to Boyce, including Adam Sandler, who played Boyce's father in the 2010 comedy, "Grown Ups."

"Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family," Sandler wrote.

Disney also released a statement, as Boyce spent most of his career with the company and is set to star in the upcoming movie, "Descendants 3."

"From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world. As a young man, he was fueled by a strong desire to make a difference in peoples' lives through his humanitarian work. He was an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and thoughtful person and, above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend," a rep for Disney said.

Funeral plans or a public memorial for Boyce has not yet been announced.
