Cameron Boyce Autopsy Scheduled as Death Investigation Launches

Cameron Boyce's family has announced how they believe the young Disney star died, but a death investigation is still underway to determine exactly what happened.

20-year-old Boyce is now with the L.A. County Medical Examiner, and an autopsy has been scheduled.

An investigator has also been assigned to Boyce's case to determine exactly how the young star died.

Boyce's family said he passed away in his sleep from a seizure from an ongoing medical condition he was being treated for.

If an autopsy is not conclusive on how he died, then a toxicology test will be performed, which could take several weeks.

Boyce died Saturday at his home in Los Angeles, and his family has not revealed what medical condition he was battling.

After learning of his death, "Grown Ups" co-star Adam Sandler wrote a touching tribute in honor of the young star.

"Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world," Sandler wrote.

He added, "Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences.‬"

Even though he was sick, Boyce did not slow down from getting involved and trying to make a difference.

Along with acting, he recently introduced former Vice President Joe Biden at the Biden Courage Awards back in March.

He was also extremely philanthropic, and raised over $27,000 back in 2017 for the Thirst Project, which helps bring clean water to underdeveloped countries.
