Cam’Ron Proclaims Ma$e Finally Regained Publishing Rights From Diddy

Ma$e regained the rights to his publishing from Diddy, according to Cam’ron. Killa Cam hit Instagram on Wednesday (Aug. 30) to announce the news. Cam asserted that once the ink dries, Ma$e will be able to get his music business straightened out. During the same post, Dipset’s de facto leader also revealed he has a new project on the way.

“My ni**a murder had to sit this one out,” he began the post. “He just got his publishing back from Puff. Just finished the paperwork for that yesterday. Congrats @rsvpmase. While he getting his music back in order, I’m dumping my hard drive pause. The Lost Files Vol 1. Sept 8.”

Back in 2020, Ma$e disclosed in a now-deleted IG post that he has been attempting to get his publishing back from Diddy. After Puffy received the GRAMMY’s Icon Award, he accused his former collaborator of “starving” his artists — including himself.

“Your past business practices knowingly have continued purposely starved your artist and been extremely unfair to the very same artist that helped u obtain that Icon Award on the iconic Bad Boy label,” he said. “For example, u still got my publishing from 24 years ago in which u gave me $20k. Which makes me never want to work w/ u as any artist wouldn’t after u know someone is robbing you & tarnishing your name when u don’t want to comply w/ horrendous business model.”

“To add insult, u keep screaming Black excellence and love but I know love isn’t free,” he added. “So I offered u 2m in cash just a few days ago to sell me back my publishing (as his biggest artist alive) that always show u respect for u giving me an opportunity at 19 years old. Your response was if I can match what the EUROPEAN GIY OFFER him that would be the only way I can get it back.”

Ma$e released his debut album in 1997 with Harlem World. The LP was executive produced by Diddy. The Harlemite also released Double Up and Welcome Back under Bad Boy.
