Calvin Harris and Vick Hope are officially husband and wife.

On Sept. 9, 2023, the DJ and radio host tied the knot during a sprawling estate wedding in northeast England in front of family and friends. It wasn't until months later that they made their red carpet debut at the 66th annual Grammy Awards, where they posed for photos on the way into the ceremony.

Though the couple first sparked engagement rumors in May 2022, they’ve actually known each other for years. In fact, Hope previously joked about how Harris asked her out (and she turned him down) in the early 2000s before they officially started dating more than 15 years later.

Over the course of their relationship, the two have kept things incredibly low-key, with Hope noting that they wanted to keep details of their engagement private.

"You know what, I was very overwhelmed by the interest in it, but I'm keeping my private life private," Hope told Hello! Magazine. "I've never really experienced this before about my private life, but it's just for us."

After growing up in Newcastle upon Tyne, Hope studied modern languages at Emmanuel College at the University of Cambridge, and can speak English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

During a previous interview, Hope revealed she actually took night classes, including Spanish classes, to help her get into Cambridge. “I was so determined,” she told A-list. “I’d read about Cambridge University and my teachers said it was a risk and told me to go to another uni but I’m very hard working and my school didn’t do the subjects I needed and wanted to do, so I taught myself Spanish at adult education classes to do my A-level exam and same with further maths, which I taught myself in a year.”

“I wanted to stand out from the other kids who had gone to Eton. I was strong willed and my parents instilled this notion of hard graft,” she continued. “That’s how you’ve got to get by — nothing is given to you.”

She’s a TV and radio presenter

Hope has an extensive career as a TV and radio presenter. She first got her start in the entertainment industry at age 19, when she was hired to be The Argentina Independent's youngest-ever journalist, per her bio on Amnesty International.

She previously hosted the Capital Breakfast show on Capital FM, Crufts on Channel 4, Carnage on Sky One, Trending Live on 4Music, and FYI Daily on ITV2. Additionally, she was a backstage present for ITV's The X Factor in 2019 and was a red carpet host for the 2020 BAFTA Film Awards.

Currently, she works for BBC Radio 1, where she hosts three shows a week, including Going Home with Vick and Jordan, Life Hacks and Official Chart: First Look.

She’s also an author

In addition to her busy life as a radio host, Hope is also an author. In 2019, she released her debut children's novel, Listen Up: Rule the Airwaves, Rule the School, and in 2021, she released its sequel, Shout Out: Use Your Voice, Save the Day, which she co-wrote with Roman Kemp.

She’s very involved with philanthropy work

Hope is an ambassador for Amnesty International, a “global movement of more than 10 million people in over 150 countries and territories who campaign to end abuses of human rights,” per their website. She also does volunteer work for the charity Akwaaba, providing care packages and assistance with immigration casework for migrants, per Yahoo Entertainment.

During an interview with You Magazine in January 2023, Hope revealed that Harris originally asked her out in 2007 around the time his song “Acceptable in the 80s” came out — but she rejected him at the time. “It's something that we laughed about on our first proper date," she said, per The Daily Mail. "We still laugh about it now."

Hope previously reflected on turning down Harris in 2018, joking that she was “shallow” at the time. “He looked how he used to look, I was shallow, I was 19,” she said on Capital FM's Breakfast Show, per Daily Mirror. “I said no and I went off with either Scouting for Girls, or The Wombats. I don't know which. I thought they were going to be bigger but no, it turns out Calvin Harris was going to turn into an Adonis.”

She and Calvin Harris sparked engagement rumors in May 2022

Though Hope and Harris were first linked in January 2022, it wasn’t until May 2022 that they were seen together in public for the first time as they attended the Chelsea Flower Show together in London, England.

The emerald-cut ring on Hope's hand caused buzz about a possible engagement, but the two did not confirm or deny. Hope told Hello! Magazine that October, "You know what, I was very overwhelmed by the interest in it, but I'm keeping my private life private. I've never really experienced this before about my private life, but it's just for us."
