Calling all step fans: The East Coast Step Show is in Fayetteville this weekend

Students from universities, high schools and middle schools across the East Coast are headed to Fayetteville's Crown Theatre on Saturday for the 20th annual East Coast Step Show: Carolina Stomp Fest.

The Middle/High School Show starts at 4 p.m. and is followed by the College Fraternity/Sorority Show at 6:30 p.m., a news release said.

East Carolina University, North Carolina Central University, Old Dominion University, Livingstone College, Norfolk State University, Howard University, Georgia State University, Fayetteville State University and Winthrop University are participating in this year's event.

Competing for the High School and Middle School Step Team Championships are teams from Greenville, Rocky Mount, Charlotte, Durham, Raleigh and Fayetteville. Also performing are dance teams and a special musical guest, the release said.

A portion of the proceeds will assist fraternity and sorority step teams with scholarships, charity, tuition, membership dues and community service, the release said.

Tickets can be purchased at all Ticket Master outlets, online at ticketmaster.com and at the Crown Complex Box Office. General admission is $18. Discounts are available to students and members of the military with identification. Those who purchase 10 tickets will receive two free tickets to the show.
