Calling comic book, adventure movie, card-collecting gamers! You are needed at the bayfront

The Erie Comicon cosplay event is pairing up with Brick, a Lego show featuring "LUG" groups (Lego User Groups) and their creations, a swap meet, building and other LEGO activities. (No, there will not be barefoot hopscotch on LEGOS, we are disappointed to report.)

Erie Comicon takes place Friday through Sunday at the Bayfront Convention Center.

The fun starts at 2 p.m. Friday at the BCC, at 1 Sassafras St., with celebrities in the Comicon world, artists, authors, folks in costume, collectibles and more. Friday it's open 2 to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Celebrities expected

Make sure to visit with Bruce Wechtenhiser, a collector and arguably the world’s biggest Spider-Man fan, who has been collecting for 50 years.

Pupeteer Kevin Clash, Power Rangers' Brennan Mejia, voice actor Amber Lee Connors, actor Barry Pearl, actor Jamie Donnelly, Power Rangers' Michelle Langstone, Mighty Ducks' Shaun Weiss, Power Rangers' Carla Perez, Michael Koski, Guardians of the Galaxy, Randy Jones of the Village People and Mike Ancas from Day of the Dead.

Along with them are dozens of artists and seven cosplay artists. Don't miss the Tardis from Dr. Who; Funko Box from Funko Pops and more.

ComiCon Erie’s Cosplay Contests

Register for the Costume contests in one of two age categories, kids 3 to 15 and adults at 1 p.m., 16 and older at 4 p.m. Saturday. The website includes a registration form. make sure to download it, fill it out and bring it with you to Comicon.

After Party on the Bayfront

The party, $20, or included in the VIP package, starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, and is located on the Sunset Terrace at the Bayfront Convention Center. It will feature DJ Bill Page, celebrity appearances, giveaways, souvenirs and drink specials. Everyone must have an ID to order drinks.

Cost

Tickets in advance Friday cost $19; Saturday $22; and Sunday $19. A full weekend pass (a "Geekender") is $35. All days are free for kids 7 and younger.

Tickets sold at the door are $22 Friday and Sunday, $25 for Saturday and $40 for the Geekender pass. Children 7 and younger are still free.
