Grand opening weekend lineup at Montgomery Whitewater
The long-awaited grand opening of Montgomery Whitewater is happening on July 7-9 at the manmade river channel facility at 1100 Maxwell Blvd. While entry to Montgomery Whitewater is free, for this weekend they'll charge a $10 parking fee from 3:30 p.m. on July 7 until 6 p.m. on July 9. Delman Circus continues at Eastdale Mall
The international Delman Circus is set up next to Belk at 100 W. Eastdale Mall, now through July 10. the show features clowns, aerialists, acrobats, jugglers, and cartoon characters from TV and film — including a "Frozen" adventure with snow, a transforming car, "Paw Patrol" characters and more. General admission tickets for adults and children can be purchased online for $10 each at circusdelman.com. That price is valid for the first 100 tickets of each show, and ends two hours before each performance. There is no performances on Wednesday.
Cabaret at Alabama Shakespeare Festival
July 6-Aug. 6 on Alabama Shakespeare Festival’s Festival Stage. One of the most famous American musicals of all time — from the creators of Chicago — Cabaret takes us to 1929 Berlin during the twilight of the Jazz Age as the Nazis are ascending to power. This groundbreaking musical focuses on the nightlife at the seedy Kit Kat Klub and revolves around American writer Clifford Bradshaw and the English cabaret performer Sally Bowles. Based on the writings of Christopher Isherwood and winner of Tony Awards and Oscars, Cabaret will offer our audiences a transformative theatrical experience unlike anything they’ve ever witnessed. Charity Jam for Bobby Mills
Bobby has been playing drums, studying music all his life. He's been a professional musician since he was 17, and teaching kids for 7 years. He has had several strokes and is currently in rehab. A benefit for Mills is being held July 15 noon to 5 p.m. at Big Star Tavern in Prattville. It'll have music by Lisa Busler, Angie & Howard, Rachael Wilson, Hunter & Paula, Kent Cooper, Andrew & Paul, John Oakley, Juicy Sam Rowlin, Hat Trick, John Bull. Food and raffles.
Wetumpka's River and Blues Music & Arts Festival
A night of free family fun and music is coming to downtown Wetumpka on July 15, with art from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and music from 4-11 p.m.: The Fabulous Fliptones 4-4:45 p.m., The Green Springs 5-5:45 p.m., Kat Riggins 6-7 p.m., Jukebox Brass Band 7:15-9 p.m., Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band 9:15-11 p.m.
Banda El Recodo part of huge music lineup at Rancho El Paraiso
Another huge night of music is coming to Montgomery at Rancho El Paraiso on Saturday, July 15. Doors open at 2 p.m. This is an all-ages show featuring Banda El Recodo, Banda Los Recoditos, Los Elegantes de Jerez, Dareyes de la Sierra and Jary Franco in concert.
