Caitlyn Jenner's Big Reveal Photoshoot At Center of Lawsuit

The photographer who shot Caitlyn Jenner’s big reveal as a transgender woman has filed a massive lawsuit over the snaps.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, famed photographer Annie Leibovitz is suing Univision Communications for copyright infringement and violations of the digital millennium copyright act.

Leibovitz explains she is, “a renowned professional artist who earns her livelihood through the sale and licensing of her photographs and photography services.”

The suit explains she photographed Jenner for a 2015 Vanity Fair cover shoot. The cover includes Jenner in a short white dress with the headline “Call Me Caitlyn.”

The docs note, “The 2015 Vanity Fair Photographs depict Caitlyn Jenner in her first magazine photo spread after coming out as a transgender woman.”

The photos show Jenner posing in various outfits in her Malibu home. The magazine was the first time the public saw Caitlyn.

Leibovitz accuses Univision of using her work without permission or paying a dime. She even fired off a cease and desist but they have been “unable to resolve this dispute.”

The photographer is seeking $150,000 per infringement and an injunction against Univision from continuing to use her photos.

In the suit, Leibovitz describes herself as, “a renowned portrait photographer, who resides in and is doing business within the state of New York. Ms. Leibovitz is one of the most accomplished portrait photographers in American history, and she was the first woman to have an exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. Her photographs have been featured on the covers of Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair, among other publications, and her works have been featured in advertising campaigns for many iconic American companies.”
