Caitlyn Jenner reacts to O.J. Simpson's death: 'Good riddance'

The former Olympian was previously married to Kris Jenner, whose other ex-husband, Robert Kardashian, represented Simpson in his high-profile murder trial.

Caitlyn Jenner did not mince words when she reacted to O.J. Simpson’s death.

The 74-year-old former athlete and Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum took to social media to share her thoughts after news broke Thursday that the controversial football player had died at 76.

“Good riddance,” she wrote alongside the hashtag #OJSimpson. 

The erstwhile Olympian is tangentially connected to Simpson through her ex-wife Kris Jenner, who was previously married to Robert Kardashian. Simpson's close friend, Kardashian served as one of the NFL star's defense attorneys after he was accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman in 1994.

While a jury acquitted Simpson of the murders in 1995, a Santa Monica jury later found him liable for the wrongful death of Goldman and the battery of Brown and Goldman, ordering him to pay $33.5 million in damages in 1997.

In a statement on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Simpson’s family announced that he had died on Wednesday following a battle with cancer.

“On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren,” they wrote. “During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace."

Jenner joins others who have spoken out about Simpson’s death. Attorney Gloria Allred, who represented Nicole Brown Simpson in the high-profile murder trial, said on New York City's ABC7 news that she thought the "system failed Nicole Brown Simpson and failed battered women everywhere" with the jury's initial verdict.

"In the civil case which followed, he was found liable, responsible for her wrongful death. So, it’s fair to call him a killer," Allred said. "In any event, I don’t mourn for O.J. Simpson. I do mourn for Nicole Brown Simpson and her family. They should be remembered."
