Caitlyn Jenner on What First Attracted Her to Ex-Wife Kris: ‘I Always Liked Strong Women’

Caitlyn Jenner knew Kris Jenner was a powerhouse from the moment they first met!

The couple was married from 1991 to 2015 and have two children – Kendall, 25, and Kylie, 23 — together.

Kris' strength was what drew Caitlyn, 71, to the Keeping Up with the Kardashians matriarch at the beginning of their love story.

"For me, she was very different. She was very classy, had a great sense of style. She was very smart," Caitlyn said on Dear Media's The Skinny Confidential Him & Her podcast episode on Monday.

"I always liked strong women and she was very strong. I have always put kind of women up on a pedestal and I'd love strong women, independent women."

She added, "And she was all of those things and she was very different for me. I mean, you know, she lived in Beverly Hills and I'm not a Beverly Hills person."

"She had just been going through a divorce. And, um, no, we just kind of hit it off from the beginning," Caitlyn shared.

The I Am Cait star went onto describe how Kris, 65, motivated her to get back to work after taking a few years after the Olympics to have down time.

"I was hanging out in a leased house in Malibu, not really been motivated to work," she admitted. "And Kris and I talked about that a lot. She goes, 'Well, um, I'm going to take it over. I'm going to run this thing.' "

Caitlyn described the moment Kris fired the Olympian's longtime assistant so that the mom-of-six could start handling her business dealings.

A source recently told PEOPLE that Kris Jenner "seems intrigued by" The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and "hasn’t dismissed joining it"

"And I had done a lot of public speaking. I do motivational speaking for, you know, ever since 19, my first Olympics in 1972. And that always been, that was just kind of the constant, it was always there speaking engagements, but I had not done much because I just hadn't been motivated at all," she recalled. "[Kris] goes, 'Wow, we're going to start with that.' "

From there, Kris rebranded Caitlyn and built the media empire they grew throughout their relationship.
