Rising basketball star Caitlin Clark made fashion history on Monday in New York by being the first-ever WNBA or NBA player to wear Prada on draft night. After she secured her No. 1 draft spot, where she’ll be playing her rookie year with Indiana Fever, she kicked off her black pointed-toe Prada slingback stilettos to step into something more comfortable and casual: a pair of Ugg Goldenstar Clogs.

As seen on Page Six’s TikTok account, Clark wore the Ugg clogs in the light gray “Seal” color. They featured a thick, adjustable slingback strap, a tan one-inch platform sole, a suede upper and an EVA footbed. The shoes are available for $130 online.

The WNBA Draft took place on Monday at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. For the red carpet event, Clark wore head-to-toe Prada. The luxury fashion house reached out to her styling team to outfit her for the big night. She wasn’t the only WNBA player to go in high fashion for the event.

For the event, Angel Reese stepped out in metallic silver Christian Louboutin heeled sandals and Cameron Brink wore Jimmy Choo x Jean Paul Gaultier Bing 90 chain-embellished mules.

Clark was also in the news on Tuesday when the public (along with Hoda Kotb and President Joe Biden) was outraged to learn that her base salary with the Indiana Fever is just $76,535.

In a landmark decision, the Supreme Court ruled in 2021 that NCAA players could be compensated for name, image and likeness (NIL) deals. Because of this, Clark has been signed to Nike since 2022, becoming one of the brand’s first NIL NCAA basketball players along with Bronny James, Haley Jones, DJ Wagner and Juju Watkins.

Following her Nike deal, Clark has been kitted up in a variety of Nike basketball shoes, often in colorways that match the Hawkeye’s yellow and black jerseys. Clark loves the popular Nike Kobe Protros, especially the Kobe 6 Protro. In her final NCAA season, she wore both the “Grinch” and “Reverse Grinch” editions of the sneaker, the former of which is one of the most beloved Kobe sneakers of all-time, if not basketball shoes overall. Fans will have to wait and see what Nike styles and colorways she wears to make her WNBA debut.
