Cafe Benelux in the Third Ward is closing for about a month to undergo extensive renovations to the dining room.

The cafe at 346 N Broadway will close Feb. 26 with a proposed reopening date in early April, according to a news release.

"Renovations will include a completely reimagined bar with 50% more seating, additional booths, including a VIP booth for larger groups, bigger and better TV screens, a new and improved host stand area, and operational improvements to optimize service for guests," the release said.

Three new tap towers (separate tap lines) will be installed, which will be used to increase the quality of draft beer. Two of the towers will be the first of their kind in Wisconsin: a Duvel tower and three-tap Chimay tower

The food menu will remain mostly the same, with a few new additions. The restaurant also will add wine on tap and a revamped cocktail menu.

The Lowlands Group, which owns Cafe Benelux, collaborated with Three Sixty Design Build and Rev Pop for the design.
