Byron Mann Joins ‘Altered Carbon’; ‘Pure Genius’ Adds Alexis Krause

Byron Mann (The Big Short, Hell on Wheels) is set for a recurring role in Altered Carbon, Netflix’s futuristic drama series conceived, written and executive produced by Laeta Kalogridis. Based on Richard Morgan’s award-winning 2002 cyberpunk sci-fi novel, Altered Carbon is set in the 25th century when the human mind has been digitized and the soul is transferable from one body to the next. Mann will play O.G. Kovacs, the last of the legendary intergalactic warriors known as Envoys. He is a man who has the killing instinct of a soldier along with the moral center of a freedom fighter. He has the razor sharp mind of a master strategist, combat skills that verge on the superhuman, but when he loses his temper people die. Mann will next be seen in the hit Syfy series The Expanse which returns with new episodes January 5. He’s repped by Don Buchwald & Associates and Echelon Talent Management.

Secret Girlfriend alumna Alexis Krause has booked a recurring role on CBS medical drama series Pure Genius. It tells the story of a cutting-edge Silicon Valley hospital that treats the most rare and insurmountable medical cases. Krause will play Nina Cooper, the nurse taking care of Louis Keating (Cullen Douglas), who is suffering from GSS, the same ailment that James Bell (Augustus Prew) is afflicted with. She also strikes up a friendship with Bell. Krause most recently was seen on Netflix’s The Get Down. Her feature credits include upcoming releases Under the Bed and Public Disturbance. She’s repped by Ellis Talent and Authentic.
