The Girls5Eva actress shared a trio of photos on Instagram, writing, "i had ambitious plans but only made it to exactly 1 holiday party this year for about 35 minutes before my immune system was like 'what are you doing? SIT TF DOWN.'"

"oh well," she continued. "but! i wore a vintage dress i’ve had since high school since the theme was silver&white and my kid took 2 pictures with me so overall, it feels like a win✨."

On her podcast Busy Philipps Is Doing Her Best, the actress shared that her teen had a seizure over the weekend, which Philipps saw over FaceTime as Birdie attends boarding school in Sweden. Philipps shares Birdie and Cricket, 11, with ex-husband Marc Silverstein, 52.

"The paramedics were on FaceTime and she had just come out of the seizure and she was still in the post-aura state. They were like, hooking her up with stuff and on FaceTime," the mom of two said.

"I feel stuck. My therapist yesterday said, she was like 'You sound like you're disassociating.' And I understand because I feel like this year has, I don't understand what's happening. I feel stuck in a f---ing movie, in a way that's not even disassociating, just like I keep getting put in different movies. And I just want to be in mine, like my life again. Like my movie, where it's OK."

Sharing that Birdie had journeyed from her boarding school to Stockholm to see the new Hunger Games movie with a friend, Philipps said it was "terrifying to see how she was and she was just reaching."

"Her friend who was with her, she was holding the phone so she was kind of, it was like this weird medium shot. So you could see everything that was happening. So it felt, it was just so weird."

"She was reaching toward the camera and just saying like, calling out for me. Just saying, 'Mama. Mama. Mama. Where are you? Mama.'"

Speaking with PEOPLE in August, the Dawson's Creek alum talked about giving herself grace as a mom.

"It's a constant process. Parenting is constantly learning, and I think one thing that I try to return to is that I'm not going to nail it every time," Philipps said. "The important thing is that I'm able to acknowledge and apologize when I need to, and also give myself grace and move on."

She continued, "I have a tendency to be really hard on myself, so continually reminding myself, that no one's a perfect parent and no one wants you to be a perfect parent. I think kids would be really boring if they all had perfect parents."
