Busta Rhymes announced a new album, Blockbusta, with a star-studded group of executive producers. On Monday (Oct. 23), the “Dungeon Dragon” hit social media with a teaser trailer. The one-minute long trailer showed Busta assembling Pharrell, Swizz Beatz, and Timbaland for a Zoom call. The Brooklyn rapper introduced his upcoming tenth solo album, with each legendary producer speaking about the new work.

“I’m so grateful that you chose me to be a part of your legacy,” Timbo said. Pharrell added, “You really feel illuminated. This illumination is good because I think people are going to be able to get and feel that.” The shot then shifts to Swizzy, who refers to Skateboard P as “the pharaoh,” Timbaland as “the king,” and lastly refers to himself as “the student.”

The trailer cuts away to a volcanic eruption, with the LP’s title appearing from the lava. Although no further details were revealed, the iconic entertainer does disclose that Mike Amiri designed the album’s artwork. Blockbusta is set to arrive on Nov. 24, 2023.

Features weren’t revealed for the work, but two guests have already been shown off. Busta Rhymes has released two singles for the album so far. These tracks include “Beach Ball” featuring BIA and “Luxury Life” with Coi Leray. A closer inspection of the LP on Apple Music shows that a track called “Ok” featuring Young Thug is set to appear on the album.

Blockbusta serves as the follow-up to Busta’s 2020 effort Extinction Level Event 2: Wrath of God. ELE2 features guest verses from Bell Biv Devoe, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Nikki Grier, Eminem, Rah Digga, M.O.P, and more.
