Business notebook: Children’s Miracle Network fundraiser at United Supermarkets

A donate-at-the-register campaign benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals began Wednesday at area United Supermarkets, the grocery store chain said in a news release.

Through the campaign, customers will be able to add any dollar amount to their grocery bill at checkout to support Children’s Miracle Network, which raises funds for 170 children's hospitals around the country.

The campaign will be open through May 31 at United Supermarkets, Market Street, Albertsons Market and Amigos locations in Texas and New Mexico.

Funeral Directors Life creates corporate culture department, announces promotion

Funeral Directors Life, based in Abilene, recently announced the launch of its new Corporate Culture Department, to be headed by executive vice president and chief culture officer Jeff Stewart, the company said in a news release.

According to the release, the new department is intended to help the FDLIC implement its ideals on a larger scale.

"This new department will be focused on building upon our legacy of optimum work-life balance, camaraderie, and culture built on values like loyalty, trust, accountability, generosity, and service to others," president and CEO Kris Seale said in the release.

In a separate release, FDLIC announced that Drew Seale has been promoted to executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

Drew Seale holds a bachelor of business administration degree from Baylor University. He started his career in the company's active sales program and was vice president of sales operations before his most recent promotion.

U-Haul names new local dealership

U-Haul Company of Texas has announced that Lil Red Barn, at 542 Highway 36, is now a U-Haul neighborhood dealer.

Products and services such as U-Haul trucks, towing equipment, moving supplies and in-store pickup for boxes will be available.
