McBride named president of Eau Gallie Arts District

Mike McBride recently was named as president and board chairman of the Eau Gallie Arts District.

McBride is chief marketing officer and partner with the Cowbell Agency, and has a long career in marketing and advertising.

He began his career in Atlanta, where he was creative director for agency accounts, including Coors, Burger King, Coca-Cola, BellSouth and Kelloggā€™s.

Client-side, McBride was vice president of marketing services for global textile corporation Home Innovations, where he managed all domestic and international marketing efforts for customers such as Target, J.C. Penney and Calvin Klein Home.

McBride has actively served on more than 30 nonprofit boards and committees.

His board memberships have included: Business Voice, Founders Forum, Melbourne Regional Chamber of East Central Florida, Junior Achievement of the Space Coast, Brevard Workforce, Vivace Society, Space Coast Advertising Federation, Florida Public Relations Association ā€“ Space Coast and the Bridges Foundation.

The Eau Gallie Arts District, or EGAD, is an organization that supports the cultural and business growth of the historic neighborhood of Melbourne known as Eau Gallie, roughly located between U.S. 1 and the Indian River Lagoon.

Crane to lead new St. Francis operation

Gina Crane is the new clinical manager at St. Francis Reflections new hospice care center inside the Melbourne Regional Medical Center.

Crane has worked at St. Francis Reflections for almost three years, beginning as the clinical manager of the St. Francis Reflections' Manatee Team. She also was the recipient of the St. Francis Reflections' 2022 Heart of Hospice honor.

The new hospice center at Melbourne Regional Medical Center, located on the hospitalā€™s second floor, offers a comforting setting and homelike environment.

Patients and their families experience private rooms with adjoining suite bathrooms and space for visitors to spend time with the loved ones.

A family room with kitchenette is available for families.

The Melbourne Regional Medical Center care center is St. Francis Reflectionā€™s third hospice care center in Brevard County. The others are on Merritt Island and in Titusville.

Ophthalmologist Darlington offering services in Baytree location

Dr. Jason Darlington, an ophthalmologist and eye surgeon, has started surgical services at Atlantic Surgery and Laser Center in Baytree, adjacent to Atlantic Eye MD at 8040 N. Wickham Road, near the corner of Baytree Boulevard and Wickham Road.

Darlington, who works at the center with Dr. Fredrick Ho, operates with state-of-the-art technology on patients receiving treatment for cataracts, glaucoma, corneal diseases and strabismus.

The two also perform eyelid surgeries, implants of multifocal lenses and pterygium surgery.

Darlington graduated from the University of California, Davis. He then attended UC Davis Medical School, where he conducted research in corneal disease.

Following an internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of California, Davis.
