Bushwick Bill “still alive,” despite reports of death: Publicist
Geto Boys member Bushwick Bill is “still alive and fighting cancer,” according to his publicist. Update – 11:40 p.m. EST: Bushwick Bill passed away Sunday evening, his publicist has confirmed.
The 52-year-old rapper’s death was reported early Sunday by TMZ, citing friends of Bushwick Bill. Fellow Geto Boys member Scarface posted, “R.I.P. Bushwick Bill”, on Instagram.
However, Bushwick Bill’s publicist told TMZ that he’s alive as of Sunday afternoon, and that news of his death was based on “incorrect information which is spreading like wildfire.”
Update – 1:55 p.m. EST: Bushwick Bill’s daughter has confirmed that his father is still alive. “My dad IS NOT dead, he’s still alive and fighting for his life,” he wrote. “He needs your continued prayers and support. Certain people have been so quick to write him off as dead so they can capitalize off it, and it’s messed up because y’all really think these people care about him. There is no Geto Boys without Bushwick Bill.”
In February, Bushwick Bill was was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
