‘The Burial’ Trailer: Jamie Foxx Takes On Corporate Corruption In Film With Tommy Lee Jones, Jurnee Smollett And More

Fans can now get a look at Jamie Foxx’s upcoming turn as lawyer Willie E. Gary in the new trailer for The Burial, also starring Tommy Lee Jones and Jurnee Smollett.

Directed by Maggie Betts with Betts and Doug Wright writing the screenplay, the film’s story is based on a real-life fight against corporate wrongdoing. The real story has been chronicled by The New Yorker writer Jonathan Harr. According to the official description:

Inspired by true events, when a handshake deal goes sour, funeral homeowner Jeremiah O’Keefe (Jones) enlists charismatic, smooth-talking attorney Willie E. Gary (Foxx) to save his family business. Tempers flare and laughter ensues as the unlikely pair bond while exposing corporate corruption and racial injustice in this inspirational, triumphant story.

The film also stars Smollett, Mamoudou Athie, Pamela Reed, Bill Camp, Dorian Missick and Alan Ruck. Foxx produces along with Celine Rattray, Trudie Styler, Datari Turner, Jenette Kahn, Adam Richman and Bobby Shriver.

The Burial comes to select theaters Oct. 6 and will stream on Prime Video Oct. 13.
