U.K. electronic artist Bullion enlists Carly Rae Jepsen for the new track “Rare,” the first single off his upcoming album Affection.

The producer, born Nathan Jenkins, and Jepsen previously collaborated on a pair of tracks (“Bends” and “Far Away”) that appeared on the singer’s 2022 LP The Loneliest Time; “Rare” firt emerged from those Toronto recording sessions.

Jenkins and Jepsen alternate vocals atop dreamy synths on the track, which was accompanied by a visualizer by George Wheeler:

“I’ve been a fan of Bullion from the first listen. His music just sends me some place good every time. We started writing together over zoom sessions in lock down and then met in real life in Toronto, London and LA,” Jepsen said in a statement.

“When I first reached out to him, I said ‘it would be fun to see how your world of music and mine could play together’ and it’s been one of the coolest discoveries. To be featured on ‘Rare’ is such a sweet start to 2024. And as a fan still, I’m really looking forward to this whole album.”

Affection, due out April 26 via Ghostly International and available to preorder now, also features guest spots from Animal Collective’s Panda Bear (who appears on the album’s opening track “A City’s Never”) and Belgian singer Charlotte Adigéry.

In addition to Jepsen, Bullion has also worked with artists like David Byrne, Westerman, Nilufer Yanya, the Pop Group, and more.
