Howl at the moon with excitement because everyone’s favorite vampire slayer is back in the world of supernatural television. But this time, it’s on the side of the wolves. Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar has come onboard the Paramount+ series Wolf Pack. Wolf Pack, from Teen Wolf executive producer Jeff Davis, will bring us a whole new werewolf tale.

In news we first saw on Deadline, we learned that Sarah Michelle Gellar would executive produce and also star in Paramount+’s Wolf Pack. According to Deadline, “It follows a teenage boy (Armani Jackson) and girl (Bella Shepard) whose lives are forever changed when a California wildfire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature.” We assume that creature is a wolf.

In Wolf Pack, Gellar will play an “arson Investigator Kristin Ramsey, a highly regarded expert in her field and no stranger to personal loss, brought in by authorities to catch the teenage arsonist who started a massive wildfire which may have also led to the reawakening of a supernatural predator terrorizing Los Angeles.” Which is kind of like being a vampire slayer… almost. We’ll have to wait and see what involvement Sarah Michelle Gellar will have with the supernatural in this series.

Gellar shared a first look at Ramsey on Instagram in September. And noted of her role on Wolf Pack, “I think the main thing for them [fans of Buffy] to know is that it’s a little bit of a slow burn with me, and to trust that there’s a reason I’m on this show… It might not be obvious in the first three [episodes], but by the time you get to four and five, you’re going to get some twists. … In [episode] eight, you’ll get the me you came to see. You’ve got to wait, but it’s worth the wait.” That certainly paints a picture worth waiting for.

Wolf Pack premiered on January 26 on Paramount+. Although Wolf Pack appears not to be a Teen Wolf series, we wouldn’t mind if the universes ever overlapped. We’ll cross our fingers because we need more of Sarah Michelle Gellar in everything.

And if she could appear as Buffy, even for one scene, the internet might truly break.
