Budweiser delivers: New Super Bowl 58 commercial reunites Clydesdales, dog. Watch.
Two of Budweiser’s biggest Super Bowl ad superstars – the Clydesdales and the yellow Labrador – are back for the big game in 2024.
After teasing its return to the Super Bowl for days, Budweiser released the new minute-long ad “Old-School Delivery” on Wednesday, more than a week before Super Bowl LVIII, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Franciso 49ers, on Feb. 11.
The ad reunites the storied beer brand’s iconic Clydesdales with a yellow Lab, for another memorable ad in a series featuring the two dating back a decade to 2014’s “Puppy Love” and 2015’s “Lost Dog.”
The spot opens with a snowstorm bearing down on a mountain town where the power goes out, leaving the local bar without lights and music from the jukebox. To make matters worse, the Bud is running low.

With roads closed due to the snow, Clydesdales come to the rescue of a local beer distributor eager to make his deliveries.
“Alright, let’s do it the old school way,” he says as they begin to load up a beer wagon and head out into the snow, snaking along a road through the mountains.
When the blinding snow and fog become too much, the Labrador (presumably the bar’s mascot) steps outside to hear the whinnies of the Clydesdales and heads out to retrieve them and lead them to the bar, where they receive a hero’s welcome as beer begins to pour from the taps again followed by a card that reads “Delivering Since 1876.”

Directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker and Emmy Award-winning commercial director Henry Alex Rubin and created by FCB New York, the ad isn’t the warm and fuzzy ads of a decade ago. But stick around for the ending for a sweet moment between its two stars.
What music is featured in the new Budweiser Clydesdales Super Bowl ad?
"The Weight,” the popular song released by The Band in 1968 and ranked No. 58 in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, serves as the commercial’s soundtrack, continuing a tradition of classic rock songs (and remakes) in Budweiser ads including Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” in 2013’s “Brotherhood”; Passenger’s “Let Her Go” in 2014’s “Puppy Love”; and Sleeping At Last’s cover of The Proclaimer’s “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).” Budweiser’s 2022 commercial, "A Clydesdale's Jouney," featured a performance of the National Anthem by Gary Clark Jr.
The commercial marks the 46th appearance of the Clydesdales on Super Bowl Sunday.

The ad is part of 2 ½ minutes of national advertising time purchased by Budweiser parent Anheuser-Busch during the game. Other ads will promote its Michelob Ultra and Bud Light brands.
