“We think Buddy’s Pizza, together with Michigan Athletics, is a winning team, and we’re thrilled with the opportunity to bring our beloved original Detroit-style pizza to the fans of the maize-and-blue,” said Chris Tussing, Buddy’s Pizza incoming CEO, in a news release.  “Whether you’re already a devoted Buddy’s fan, or someone eating our pizza for the first time, we’re ready to make game day delicious.”

Fans can choose Buddy’s four-square pepperoni or classic cheese pizzas.  Pizzas are $15 each and served in a “Go Blue” box. Included in the pizza is a $4 off coupon code for a future purchase at any Buddy’s Pizza location.

“We’re thrilled to be able to bring fans of Michigan Athletics a favorite and iconic hometown brand, like Buddy’s Pizza,” said Jennifer Cadicamo, vice president and general manager, Michigan Sports Properties, in a news release. “We each have our own proud and rich local histories, and we’re excited to experience this next chapter of our stories together.”

Buddy's started 77 years ago at 6 Mile and Conant Street, and now has 22 Michigan locations that include dine-in and carry-out. It's known for its pizzas baked in dark, deep pans once used for automotive parts. The pans and how the pie is assembled are hallmarks of Detroit-style pizza. Buddy's pizzas' edges are laced with a crispy, caramelized cheese crust, and the sauce is on top.

In Ann Arbor, Buddy’s Pizza's full-service restaurant is at 3153 Ann Arbor-Saline Rd.
