Bucks County lumber company hopes to break Guinness World Record. Here's how to take part

Ever dreamed of breaking a world record?

Tague Lumber of Doylestown is attempting to do just that and is enlisting the help of the local community to achieve its goal.

This month, the lumber and materials company will attempt to secure their place in history by breaking the Guinness World Record for the most people knocking on wood simultaneously.

“We are thrilled to bring the community together for this exciting Guinness World Records attempt,” said company CEO, Vince Tague, Jr.

“Tague Lumber has been in business for over 115 years, and we wanted to create a memorable event that showcases our commitment to providing quality building products to our customers and the community. We are excited to invite everyone to join us and be a part of history on April 25, 2024.”

The free event includes snacks, photo stations, prizes, a performance by the Central Bucks East marching band and live music by local cover band The Electric Mayhem.

When and where will the Guinness World Record event take place?

  • Where: Tague Lumber of Doylestown, 6100 Easton Road, Plumsteadville

  • When: 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 25

To ensure a spot at this event, participants must register online in advance.

What is the world record for knocking on wood?

A Guinness World Record was set by DZI Insurance Company, when 295 people in Sofia, Bulgaria knocked on wood simultaneously on August 13, 2021.
