Bucks County is a historic and patriotic place on any given day. The July 4th Independence Day holiday just gives us more reasons to celebrate.

And whether you love a good fireworks displays, the pageantry of a parade or a step back in history, these Bucks County July 4 events have you covered. So happy birthday, America, let's celebrate.

Lahaska

Peddler’s Village is once again hosting its Red, White & Blue BBQ Bash. On Tuesday, July 4, the village will be "serving up all-American grilled favorites and featuring music and family fun. Enjoy festive and upbeat music, including patriotic favorites, played by DJ Dwayne Dunlevy, and try to win a prize competing in games such as sack races, balloon toss, three-legged race, and watermelon eating contests." Northampton

St. Bede the Venerable Church will host its 16th Annual Patriotic Concert starting at 7 p.m. Monday, July 3. Bring a lawn chair to the church at 1071 Holland Road. The concert includes musical tributes to notable rock figures and Broadway musicals of American history, salutes to the military branches, and food and drinks for sale. The event is free.

Upper Makefield

Washington Crossing Historic Park will host Colonial Field Day, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with popular games from the 18th century including cup and ball, Jacob’s Ladder, hoop and stick and more, according to the park’s website. The winning family will receive a family membership to the Friends of Washington Crossing Park, and players will also receive a hands-on craft kit, including the opportunity to make their own toy or game.

Sunday, July 2 brings us the Rebels and Redcoats Classic Car Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. that invites classic car owners to compete. The show features American, French, British and German cars, representing the four countries involved in the Revolutionary War. Classic show-condition cars from model years 1998 and earlier are welcome in this class. There will also be an open class for cars of any make, model, and year. These prizes will be determined by peer judging. All proceeds from this event will benefit the nonprofit Friends of Washington Crossing Park’s historical and educational programming, according to the park’s website. From noon to 4 p.m. July 4, celebrate Independence Day by bringing the whole family back to July 4, 1776 at the park. Living historians demonstrate their crafts and see a military encampment. A highlight of the day will be readings of the Declaration of Independence at 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Tickets are $8 for adults age 12 and over; $4 for children ages 5-11; and free for those under 5, active duty military, and members of the Friends of Washington Crossing Park. Families with up to two adults and two children living in the same household can purchase a single Family ticket for $20.

Pre-registration is recommended. Admission to Bowman’s Hill Tower is included in your ticket to Living History Day. Visit washingtoncrossingpark.org.

Chalfont / New Britain Township / New Britain

The Tri-Municipal 4th of July parade returns, starting at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4. It starts at the Town Center on Butler Avenue and Ute Road, following along Butler Avenue to Rt. 152 North (Main St.), and ending at North Branch Park, 207 Park Avenue in Chalfont. Doylestown

The Fonthill Castle on South Pine Street will hold its Old-Fashioned Fourth of July celebration on July 4 from noon to 4 p.m. "where guests enjoy a day of fun, food, games, crafts, entertainment and live music. Highlights of the day include the children’s decorated bike parade, wheelbarrow and sack races, tug-of-war, live musicians, and food trucks. Antique bicycles, historic town ball (a precursor to baseball!) and other fun activities," according to organizers. Admission: $5 Adults / $1 Youth (ages 6-17) / Free for children 5 and under. Lower Southampton

The Lower Southampton Fourth of July Independence Day Parade is set to roll on July 4 at 1 p.m, Rain date is Saturday, July 8 at 1 p.m. It will start on Bustleton Pike, in Feasterville, cross over Street Road as it approaches the grandstand area provided by Coastal Radiator, then roll past The Buck Hotel, then continue and end at the Lower Southampton School at School Lane.

The parade promises to not disappoint. Starting with a patriotically decorated golf part, hand delivering the Parade program to all the spectators, featuring township information as well as advertisements from many local businesses. There will be a local DJ at the grandstand providing the patriotic atmosphere, awesome marching bands, local and visiting emergency vehicles, vintage vehicles of all kinds, and a few more surprises.

Quakertown

Quakertown’s 4th of July community day returns on Tuesday, July 4 at Quakertown Memorial Park located on West Mill Street. The car show and vendors are back. For more details, visit https://www.facebook.com/QuakertownCommunityDay/.

Upper Southampton

The 50th Annual Southampton Days Country Fair will feature a large variety of events and activities from July 3 to 8 on 2nd Street Pike in Churchville. On July 4, the baby parade kicks off the day at 9 a.m., followed by the main parade at 9:30 a.m. Firework display at 9:30 p.m. The Southampton Days Parade forms at Jaymor Road, preceding north on Second St. Pike to Klinger Middle School. The fair opens at 6 p.m. Monday, and through the week, families can expect concerts on the Midway Stage, rides, food, bingo, children’s games, and many more to keep their spirits lifted. Free bus service will also be provided from area shopping centers.

The fair will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. every night with ride passes that are $25 per person and musical entertainment from various bands. For more details on the country fair, visit SouthamptonDays.com.

Bensalem

Join Parx Racing on July 4 for free family fun in the Picnic Grove, and food and drink specials. DJ Tonka will be in attendance. Gates open at 11 a.m. and first post is 12:55 p.m. at the Street Road complex.

Philadelphia

As part of the Wawa Welcome America festival, the National Constitution Center will offer free admission 9:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, courtesy of Wawa, and 15,000 free shortie hoagies will be given out that day at noon in front of the Constitution Center on Arch Street between 5th and 6th streets.
