Rock: For those who missed Bryan Adams’ performance at the Stagecoach country music festival in April, good news: the singer-songwriter is coming back to the Coachella Valley on Friday to perform at Acrisure Arena. The Canadian rocker packed Stagecoach's Palomino Stage and performed a set packed with hits, and we expect him to do the same this weekend.

Adams, who is known for hits such as “Summer of ’69,” “I Do It For You,” “Straight From The Heart,” “Heaven” and more released his 15th album, “So Happy It Hurts,” in 2022, which was nominated for a Grammy Award.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will also perform. Jett, former guitarist of The Runaways, is No. 87 on Rolling Stone’s 100 greatest guitarists of all time and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.

Alternative: “Gusterrhoids” will be happy to know that alternative band Guster will be performing on Friday at Pappy and Harriet’s. The Boston band known for its captivating acoustic songs with strong percussion has built a devoted fan base over the past three decades through fan interaction.

The band’s frontman, Adam Gardner, promotes environmentalism through REVERB, an organization he cofounded with his wife to make the touring industry environmentally sustainable. REVERB has worked with artists such as Billie Eilish, Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews Band and more.

Tribute: For over three decades, musician Syl Thompson has been performing the music of David Bowie for audiences around the world. He celebrates the late singer’s essence and colorful persona while going back to material such as the 1969 song “Space Oddity” to songs heard during Bowie’s final days on the 2013 album “The Next Day.”

Thompson will perform “A Night Of Bowie” on Saturday at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa in Rancho Mirage.

Southern rock: In 1974, the members of 38 Special wanted to form the "ultimate band" and performed its brand of southern rock opening for bands such as KISS and Peter Frampton. But the band wouldn't find mainstream success until 1980 with "Rockin' into the Night" and a year later when the song "Hold On Loosely" reached No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The hits kept coming. Songs such as "Caught Up in You," "If I'd Been the One," "Teacher, Teacher," "Second Chance" and more.
