Bruno Mars’ concert in Israel was canceled this weekend amid attacks by the Hamas in the country last week. The show, which was scheduled for Saturday (Oct. 7) at Yarkon Park in Tel Aviv, was canceled shortly after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s declaration of war that same day.

“Dear customers, Bruno Mars concert scheduled to take place tonight is canceled,” Live Nation, the company behind the event, said in a statement via Instagram. Translated from Hebrew to English, the post announced that “all ticket purchases to the show will receive an automatic refund to the credit card through which the purchase was made.”

The entertainment behemoth also voiced its solidarity with Israel and the nation’s military force. “We stand with the residents of Israel, IDF fighters and the security forces in these difficult moments,” the statement read in conclusion.

The award-winning singer, who had performed the first of two scheduled concerts in Israel on Wednesday (Oct. 4), has yet to released a statement regarding the cancelation of the show. It has since been confirmed that Bruno successfully fled the country on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 7).

Described as a militant movement and one of Palestine’s major political parties, the Hamas launched the most devastating attack on Israel to date this weekend, launching thousands of rockets into the country. Followed by an invasion into Israel by the Hamas, the attacks have resulted in at least 700 reported deaths of Israelis as of Sunday (Oct. 8).

On Saturday (Oct. 7), Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared the country is at war, vowing that the Hamas and all opposing forces “will pay an unprecedented price” for their actions. “We are at war,” Netanyahu said in a televised address to the nation. “Not an ‘operation,’ not a ‘round,’ but at war.”

Israel responded with their own airstrike targeting the Gaza Strip, which the Hamas control. As of Sunday, at least 413 Palestinians had been killed as a result of Israel’s attack, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
