NHL Global Series heading to Finland, Czech Republic in 2020

The NHL Global Series will continue next year with regular-season games in Finland and Czech Republic, plus exhibition games in Germany and Switzerland, the NHL announced Friday. This will mark the fourth straight year and ninth season the NHL has travelled to Europe for games.

The Boston Bruins and Nashville Predators are set to open the regular season in Prague at O2 arena to headline the 2020 NHL Global Series.

The Bruins will play in Mannheim, Germany against Adler Mannheim at SAP Arena and the Predators against SC Bern in Bern, Switzerland as exhibition games prior to the season opener.

Later in the fall, the Colorado Avalanche and Columbus Blue Jackets will face off in a pair of regular-season games at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki.

The Predators will be making their European debut, while the Bruins, Blue Jackets, and Avalanche have each played regular-season games in Europe in the past.

The Tampa Bay Lightning and Buffalo Sabres are completing this season’s NHL Global Series with games on Nov. 8 and 9 in Sweden.
