Amid his rise to music stardom, Zach Bryan has frequently drawn comparisons to Bruce Springsteen for his earnest, vivid songwriting and energetic live shows. Even Springsteen has taken notice, as The Boss spent an off day on his own world tour to jet back to the east coast and join Bryan on stage in Brooklyn on Wednesday night.

Springsteen made a surprise appearance during the encore of Bryan’s show at Barclays Center as the two teamed up to sing the unreleased song “Sandpaper.” Springsteen then stuck for “Revival,” even playing a guitar solo during the rousing finale. Maggie Rogers, who appeared earlier in the evening for “Dawns,” also joined in on “Revival.”

Springsteen is due back for a show in San Francisco on Thursday night, so it says a lot about Bryan that The Boss was literally willing to fly across the country for a two-song cameo.

Bryan kicked off “The Quittin Time Tour” earlier this month and has dates scheduled throughout the year. A vast majority of the shows are sold out, but fans can look for tickets here.
