'I brought you a Christmas tree': Santa delivers holiday cheer to governor's mansion in Topeka

Santa Claus and a horse-drawn stagecoach delivered a Christmas tree to the governor's mansion on Tuesday.
"Merry Christmas," Santa told Gov. Laura Kelly outside Cedar Crest in Topeka.
The replica Wells Fargo stagecoach, drawn by two black horses, delivered the tree and a wreath to the mansion near S.W. 6th and Fairlawn.
The tree came from a farm near Derby. The wreath is typically hung high on the mansion.
"We figured it would be fitting this year to put a little eastern cedar in it, for Cedar Crest," said one of the event participants.
The governor didn't address the media during the public event or answer reporter questions.
"Spent the morning with Bill and Bruce while they delivered this year’s Christmas Tree to Cedar Crest," Kelly said in a tweet. "Thank you to the Kansas Christmas Tree Growers Association, Kansas Forest Service, and Trees for Troops for keeping this Kansas tradition alive."
Santa told reporters that people still have time to get off the naughty list and onto the nice list.
"You've got a full month to get on the other list," Santa said. "And as Mrs. Claus tells me: Santa, you can always do better ... just be good for goodness' sake. Ho ho ho.
"Be kind in the holidays, treat your brothers and sisters well, mind your parents."
