The Ridley brothers — Alabama’s Calvin and Georgia’s Riley — hadn’t spoken all week.

But after the College Football Playoff title game came to a close Monday night, they quickly found one another. Amid the chaos that surrounded them, the brothers embraced and exchange uniforms.

It had to be bittersweet for Riley, Calvin’s younger brother, even though he had one of the best games of his career. The young Ridley caught a career-high six passes for 82 yards, but his Bulldogs fell 26-23 in overtime.

The elder Ridley is Alabama’s leading receiver over the past three seasons, but caught just four passes for 32 yards. But one of those catches was one of the biggest plays of the game. With Alabama trailing 20-13 with under four minutes to play, Calvin Ridley caught the game-tying seven-yard touchdown pass on a fourth-down play.

That score forced overtime and the Tide went on to win with a 41-yard touchdown pass from Tua Tagovailoa to DeVonta Smith.

It was the last collegiate game for Calvin. On Wednesday, after 224 catches in an Alabama uniform, he announced he would declare for the NFL draft. Riley Ridley will be back at Georgia in 2018 for his junior year.

Calvin going pro means their mom won’t have to wear this shirt again:
