Brooke Shields, Terry Crews, Katie Couric Added to Tribeca X Speakers Lineup

Brooke Shields, Terry Crews and Katie Couric are among the high-profile figures added as speakers for the Tribeca Festival’s Tribeca X advertising and marketing section, now expanded into a two-day event running June 10-11 at Convene One Liberty Plaza in Lower Manhattan.

Crews will talk about his philosophy that “everything is entertainment.” Shields will talk about the power of authentic storytelling to shift the conversation around diabetes alongside ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Couric will be joined by Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla for a conversation about the power of storytelling to inspire action and build trust in communities worldwide. Byron Allen will talk about the value of independence in media. Producers Michael Sugar and Daniel Rosenberg will discuss the marketing industry, focusing on Hollywood. And CNN’s Abby Phillip will talk about maternal health with Christy Turlington Burns.

Previously announced speakers include Jon Bon Jovi and son Jesse Bongiovi and Jenna Lyons. The Tribeca X Hollywood speakers will be joined by leaders from brands like Adidas, Molson Coors, L’Oréal Paris, General Motors and WeTransfer.

“Since its inception, Tribeca has championed the intersection of Hollywood and brands, and over the past eight years, Tribeca X has become the leading destination for the world’s best brand storytelling,” Tribeca CEO and co-founder Jane Rosenthal said in a statement. “Building upon this legacy, we are excited to expand Tribeca X into a two-day signature event, convening the most innovative minds across entertainment, media, technology, creative marketing and advertising.”

Tribeca X also announced the official selections for the Tribeca X Award across feature film, short film, episodic series, audio, video game, immersive, commercial spot and creator/influencer collaboration. Brands represented include Adidas, Apple, CeraVe, Coca-Cola, Delta, Google, Headspace, Meta, HBO, the NFL, Procter & Gamble, State Farm, Uber, Warner Bros. Discovery and Neon. And Tribeca unveiled the X Award jury including founder and creative director at Guest In Residence, Gigi Hadid; global chief content officer at IPG Mediabrands Brendan Gaul; vice president at Google Creative Lab Robert Wong; president at Games for Change Susanna Pollack; director of innovation at Droga5, Accenture Song Justin Durazzo; senior vp and marketing head at Activision Tyler Bahl; general manager of The Signal Awards and co-creator of On Air Fest Jemma Rose Brown; executive vp of podcasting and audio at Paramount Steve Raizes; and COO at PRX Jason Saldanha.

“It is a prestigious honor to be recognized with a Tribeca X award. It means that you are creating work that defies convention, is innovative, thoughtful, and brave,” Gaul said in a statement. “I’m grateful to return to the Tribeca X jury again this year and, with the addition of new categories, and look forward to seeing the best storytelling from the industry in all of its forms.”
