Brooke Shields’ workouts are paying off.
After sharing a glimpse of her gravity-defying sweat session on social media over the weekend, the 54-year-old actress and model followed it up with a photo of the results. Shields posed in a perfectly-fitted blue strapless bikini, which showed off her toned stomach — and toned everything else. She said the photo was taken from “another Blue Lagoon,” a reference to the 1980 film that helped cement her star status.
The swimsuit photo has left commenters in awe. Cindy Crawford gave it three flame emojis and Gossip Girl actress Kelly Rutherford wrote “beautiful” while Kimberly Williams Paisley put “dayum” and Alan Cumming said “Shut the f*** up.”
But people were also talking about the workouts behind the sizzling snap. A video of Shields at Iconoclast Fitness in NYC showed her doing crunches while suspended in the air, hanging on to her trainer for support. Another showed her doing an inverted squat while hanging upside down with her feet in gravity books.
“Now I want those weird gravity boots,” former model India Hicks wrote on Shields’s bikini post.
Shields, who modeled in Calvin Klein undies in 2017 (37 years after her iconic jeans ad for the brand), told Yahoo Entertainment earlier this year that her sexy swimsuit photos have given her “such confidence.”
“My daughters” — Rowan, 16, and Grier, 13, with husband Chris Henchy — “are always like, ‘Mom, you work so hard. Why don’t you ever post?’ I’m like, ‘It’s weird.’ If I’m in an ad, I can do that. I feel like it’s a job, then I can do it, but to just post pictures of myself... My two daughters are like, ‘Mom, it’s good for you to be seen like this. You look good in your bathing suit,’ and they’ve given me such confidence to sort of be a little bit more of an exhibitionist.”
Shields said that in addition to elevating her workouts with her trainer so that she is being trained “like an athlete,” she cut alcohol from her diet. She is also the spokesperson for body-contouring laser treatment SculpSure and used it to treat areas that she couldn’t change with her workouts.
