The Georgia Department of Public Health, Environmental Health Section, conducts regular restaurant inspections to help keep residents and visitors safe.

The following is a list of restaurants in Richmond and Columbia counties that have been inspected between Sept. 26 and Oct. 2, accompanied by their scores and, in some cases, the health infractions that lowered those scores.

Inspector's comments: "Observed cleaning needed behind and in between kitchen cooking equipment. Routinely clean target areas, move equipment to clean areas if applicable."

Inspector's comments: "Observed phone sitting on prep table next to cutting board and knife, possible contamination. Designate area for personal belongings to be kept away from food products and equipment."

"Coolers/freezers in upstairs storage must be smooth, cleanable construction and commercial grade. Equipment must be installed to be easily moved, cleaned. Need to mount on cleanable dolly, no raw wood."

"Maintain temperature control for safety foods (ice cream mix, dairy products, half and half) at 41 F and below."

Inspector's comments: "Observed a food service employee plate ready to eat food with bare hand. Ensure there is no bare hand contact with ready to eat foods. Always have a barrier in between."

"Observed multiple foods uncovered throughout the kitchen & dry storage room. Ensure all foods are covered."

"Observed wet nesting of clean dishes. Allow dishes to properly air dry before stacking."

"Observed multiple loose & broken tiles, and standing water throughout the kitchen. Clean up all standing water and get tiles fixed."
