Brockhampton are weeks away from releasing their long-awaited sixth album, and it looks like Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine might be their second-to-last last project.

“2 Brockhampton albums in 2021 – these will be our last,” wrote Kevin Abstract, the creative director and mastermind behind Brockhampton.

The group made a triumphant return recently with the release of “Buzzcut,” featuring Danny Brown. The news that Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine will their penultimate album came just hours after they released the tracklist.

It’s worth noting that when the group announced the release date for Saturation III in 2017, they said it was “the last studio album by Brockhampton.” In the year that followed, they signed to RCA and released their fourth album, Iridescence. They released their fifth LP Ginger in 2019, and Roadrunner is set to drop April 9. It’s not immediately clear when their second album of 2021 is expected to arrive.

In further tweets about what fans can expect from Brockhampton, Kevin teased that a new single will arrive on Thursday night. “Summer time vibes,” he said of the track.

He also retweeted the tracklist and album cover, revealing Charlie Wilson, ASAP Rocky and ASAP Ferg, and JPEGMAFIA are among the credited features. It appears there’s some uncredited features, too, as Abstract revealed in a since-deleted tweet that rising rapper SSGKobe will be on the album. “We had a crazy track w halsey 2 but it didn’t make it,” he noted in another deleted tweet.
