Speculation ignited after Brock Lesnar‘s absence from WWE Royal Rumble 2024. A former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Lesnar last competed against Cody Rhodes at WWE SummerSlam, where he suffered a loss. Since then, he has not appeared on WWE programming.
Despite anticipating his surprise appearance at the Royal Rumble, Lesnar notably remained absent. Rumors linked his absence to his connection with a sex trafficking lawsuit against WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, which surfaced on January 25, 2024.
While Brock Lesnar was not named in the lawsuit, reports from the Wall Street Journal suggested he was the individual referred to as “WWE Superstar” and “former UFC Heavyweight Champion” involved in the allegations. Consequently, WWE allegedly replaced Lesnar with NXT star Bron Breakker in the Royal Rumble.

According to reports from John Pollock of Post Wrestling, Lesnar was originally set to face Dominik Mysterio at the 2024 Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event in Perth, Australia. Whether or not Mysterio will now face Breakker at Elimination Chamber remains uncertain. However, during Breakker’s post-match interview, he hinted at ongoing tensions with Judgment Day.

Brock Lesnar was initially intended to participate in the men’s Royal Rumble match. However, he was “withdrawn” due to his alleged involvement in the Vince McMahon allegations, with Lesnar reportedly replaced by Bron Breakker.
Dave Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Breakker essentially fulfilled Lesnar’s role in the match. Meltzer stated, “Bron Breakker essentially fulfilled the Brock Lesnar role. He came in when Brock Lesnar was going to come in, he threw out the guys Brock Lesnar was going to throw out, he got thrown out exactly how Brock Lesnar was going to get thrown out.”

Notably, Dominik Mysterio eliminated Bron Breakker. This indicated Mysterio’s initial role in the plans, implying a potential feud between him and Lesnar. As such, this would have led to a match between Mysterio and Lesnar at Elimination Chamber in Australia.
