Brock Boeser cleared to play in Canucks' opener

Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser has been declared ready to start the season after suffering a concussion in a pre-season game last week.

In the Sept. 25 matchup between the Canucks and Ottawa Senators, forward Chris Tierney hit the young star from behind, sending him into the boards.

The Canucks forward missed just one exhibition game, a matchup against the Arizona Coyotes last Thursday. Boeser returned to full practice on Monday.

Boeser has lost portions of his two full NHL seasons due to injuries, playing 69 games last season and 62 the season prior. Through his absences, he has still been able to score 59 goals and 116 points in 140 career games.

Vancouver will open its season against the Edmonton Oilers as the visiting team at Rogers Arena. Boeser will slot in beside Elias Pettersson and Micheal Ferland on the Canucks’ top line.
