The "Funny Girl" curtains will close on Lea Michele for the final time this fall – after an extended set of performances.

The Broadway revival, starring Michele as Fanny Brice, Ramin Karimloo as Nick Arnstein, Jared Grimes as Eddie Ryan and Tovah Feldshuh as Mrs. Rosie Brice, will end its run on Sept. 3, the show announced Thursday.

"Funny Girl" will have played 599 performances and 30 previews when it closes.

The end comes nearly a year after Michele debuted in the starring role on Sept. 6. In July, the show announced the "Glee" alum would be taking over for Beanie Feldstein as Fanny Brice.

"A dream come true is an understatement," Michele wrote at the time. "I'm so incredibly honored to join this amazing cast and production and return to the stage."

Michele got her start on Broadway as a child and is best known for playing musical theater enthusiast Rachel Berry on the musical comedy-drama series "Glee."

The high-profile casting change represented another step toward a return to the spotlight and respectability for Michele, after former "Glee" castmates in 2020 accused the actor of behavior interpreted as racist and bullying.

Feldstein’s final show was July 31.

In announcing her early departure from "Funny Girl," Feldstein said being a part of the show was "a great joy and true honor," but cited creative differences as the reason for her bowing out.

"Once the production decided to take the show in a different direction, I made the extremely difficult decision to step away sooner than anticipated," Feldstein explained. "I will never forget this experience and from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank every single person who came to the August Wilson for the love and support you have shown me and our amazing cast and crew."

The bittersweet comedy tells the tale of a Jewish girl from New York in the 1920s who went from burlesque to Broadway stages despite criticism that she wasn’t conventionally beautiful. "Funny Girl" is a musical that celebrates the oddballs, the kooky and the misfits.

Fanny is one of musical theater’s more difficult roles to cast, needing both a set of pipes, a sense of humor and a spunky charm, perhaps why it has only now been revived on theater’s biggest stage. Streisand starred in it on Broadway in 1964 and then won an Oscar in the 1968 film version.

The final block of tickets for "Funny Girl" are now on sale.
