Broadway board updated on plans for April festival

Mar. 27—BROADWAY — The final adjustments and touches are being put to the Broadway Our Way festival set on April 20.

"It's moving according to plans," Mayor Donald Andrews said Monday night during a meeting of the Broadway Town Commissioners. "Right now, we're just depending on having some good weather."

The festival is the highlight of the year for Broadway as it draws thousands of people to wander the streets, stroll among myriad craft vendors while enjoying live music.

"We're out of room for street vendors, but we've added four," Andrews said.

A food truck rodeo is planned with 12 vendors taking part. The Classic Cars display will be on Main Street and there will be activities for children.

If you're a Dalton Davis fan, mark your calendar as he will take to the stage at p.m. Local musicians will be performing as well.

Organizers have been working on the festival since October, Andrews said.

There were no other items on the calendar.
