Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor hadn’t quite been putting the pump in Vanderpump before splitting up.

On Tuesday’s episode of The Valley, Jax, 44, and Brittany, 35, opened up about a lack of action in the bedroom in the months leading up to their separation.

“When Jax and I first met, it was awesome. We were having sex all the time, 24/7, and I mean, we didn’t miss a day,” Brittany said in a confessional interview. “And then, it has just changed dramatically. I’m talking twice in the past year.”

With Brittany’s mom in town helping with their 2-year-old son Cruz, the former SUR sever hoped Jax would take her out for a date night. “Where’s my romantic night that you’re supposed to be planning for me?” Brittany asked him.

Jax used the opening of Jax’s Studio City restaurant as an excuse as to why he hadn’t gotten around to that yet. “I didn’t realize this bar was going to take up a lot of my time,” he said. “I should’ve known that. There’s just a lot going on right now.”

Brittany acknowledged that becoming parents also changed their dynamic. “Just put the kid first for so long, he’s always going to come first, let’s be real but…” she said.

Later in the episode, Jax, Danny Booko and Jesse Lally took their kids to the country fair. Jesse, 44, told Jax that couples counseling with his wife Michelle had been going “bad,” and the Vanderpump Rules alum opened up about issues in his own marriage.

“I feel like we got to schedule it…” Jax said of sex with Brittany, adding that he used to want sex “three, four times a day all day, every day, and now it’s like, did we do it this month?"

Jax owned up to being part of the reason his sex life with Brittany had gone stale.

“The romantic spark is just not there right now,” he said in a confessional. “I will take blame, yeah, I let that spark fizzle. It’s just not fair to either one of us. Especially, it’s not fair to my wife because she deserves to have a man be loving for her.”

He hoped they could work on the problem. “It has been a little bit of an issue because, you know, your sex life and your marriage kind of take a back seat when you have a child,” Jax said. “It’s a big deal and I don’t want it to become a bigger deal.”

Given the struggles of her castmates’ marriages, Kristen Doute thought they envied her relationship with boyfriend Luke Broderick. “They are threatened by a really hot, giant penised 32-year-old,” Kristen, 41, told the cameras. “This is one of the perks of having a 32-year-old boyfriend: his libido.”

Jax and Brittany have separated since filming wrapped because she did not feel respected in the marriage.

“I feel like I was being taken for granted and not appreciated for everything that I've been doing for the past nine years,” Brittany told PEOPLE, referring to the time she dated her costar prior to their June 2019 nuptials. “I'm taking care of my toddler, and I'm also taking care of another toddler named Jax Taylor, because I basically do everything for the household. I just want to feel appreciated and want to feel wanted by the person that I'm married to.”

The former SUR server called her marriage with Jax “toxic” and said it “got worse after the cameras went down.”

Jax declined Brittany’s suggestion of going to couples therapy, and now, the fate of their relationship remains “in his hands,” she says. “He just needs to calm down. He's got a lot of different things that he always puts on me. I'm always feeling the pressure of having to deal with things that are going on with him, and that can be really hard.”
