Britney Spears and her mom, Lynne Spears, are healing their mother-daughter bond after three years of tension.

The pop singer revealed on Instagram that her "sweet mama" paid her a visit Wednesday, marking the first time they've seen each other since the singer was freed from her conservatorship in 2021.

"My sweet mama showed up at my doorstep yesterday after 3 years, it’s been such a long time," Britney Spears wrote. "With family there’s always things that need to be worked out but time heals all wounds! And after being able to communicate what I’ve held in for an extremely long time, I feel so blessed we were able to try to make things right."

Spears continued: "I’m so blessed we can have coffee together after 14 years !!! Let’s go shopping afterwards."

Spears has been open about conflict with various family members including her father, Jamie Spears, who was her former conservator; and her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, who shared a tense back-and-forth exchange with the singer on social media in 2022.

'It's so tacky for a family to fight' Britney Spears continues response to Jamie Lynn Spears

Before Spears' conservatorship ended, her mother filed a petition to have the pop star's estate pay nearly $650,000 in legal fees for lawyers Lynne Spears hired in 2019 when she became concerned about her daughter's well-being. She later dropped the petition.

In September, Britney Spears made an Instagram post opening up about the conflict she has with her family, saying her loved ones "have no conscious whatsoever" and have denied that they've ever done anything wrong. Lynne Spears responded to her daughter's post with apologies and a plea to reopen communication.

"I am soooo sorry for your pain! I have been sorry for years! I love you so much and miss you," Lynne Spears wrote. "Please unblock me so I can speak to you in person! Britney, deep down you know how much I love and miss you! I apologize for anything and everything that’s hurt you."

When Spears and Sam Asghari married seven months after the conservatorship ended, her mother did not attend the ceremony but left a comment under some of the wedding photos wishing the happy couple the best.

"You look radiant and so happy!" Lynne wrote. "Your wedding is the 'Dream' wedding! And having it at your home makes it so sentimental and special!"

The mother of three added: "I am soooo happy for you! I love you!"
