Pop star Britney Spears had a shiny new pink pole installed in her house, and promptly celebrated by provocatively dancing to Nine Inch Nails‘ equally provocative hit “Closer.”
Spears, who has posted dozens of videos of herself dancing on Instagram over the past couple years, was particularly excited to try out her new pole. She wrote, “Got this pole two days ago and last night was my first time on it!!!”
The clip shows Spears working the pole while wearing a leopard-print bikini, showing off her skills as NIN’s industrial classic provides the soundtrack. In the years since its 1994 release, “Closer” has become a staple at strip clubs, so it’s no stranger to supplying the music for pole dancing.
Spears has not performed a concert since 2018. In addition to staying active on Instagram and battling her family over her conservatorship, she’s been working on her memoir, The Woman in Me, which is set to be published on October 24th. She also recently released a collaborative song with Will.i.am titled “Mind Your Business.”
Meanwhile, it appears that new Nine Inch Nails music is on hold for now, as frontman Trent Reznor recently said the current environment isn’t right to release new music from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame act. The band’s “Head Like a Hole” recently topped Heavy Consequence‘s list of the 50 Best Industrial Songs of All Time.
