With the release date and cover revealed earlier this summer, Spears’ revelatory memoir gives her fans a behind-the-scenes look into her life in her own words — and on the groundbreaking artist’s own terms. Spanning 275 pages, The Woman in Me covers everything from Spears’ 13-year conservatorship to a slew of other bombshells, including her relationship with Justin Timberlake, parenthood, and how she found out about the #FreeBritney movement in a rehab facility in Beverly Hills while “locked up against [her] will for months.”

Fans can get the pop star’s new memoir for a 40% discount as of publication time. Normally $32.99, you can buy the hardcover edition of Spears’ The Woman in Me for $19.94 while Amazon’s promotion lasts.

Among the main takeaways from The Woman in Me, Spears explains the familial betrayal she felt during the conservatorship, which ended in 2021, including how her sister told her to “stop fighting it.” “This will sound crazy,” Spears writes, “but I’ll say it again because it’s the truth: I thought they were going to try to kill me. I didn’t understand how Jamie Lynn and our father had developed such a good relationship. She knew I was reaching out to her for help and that she was dogging me. I felt like she should have taken my side.”

The book also dives into Spears’ lack of motivation for releasing new music following the conservatorship. “My music was my life,” Spears writes in the book, “and the conservatorship was deadly for that; it crushed my soul … Pushing forward in my music career is not my focus at the moment. It’s time for me not to be someone who other people want; it’s time to actually find myself.”

While fans can hear Spears read the book’s introduction now, Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Williams narrates the rest of the The Woman in Me audiobook. Britney fans can listen to the audiobook version of the memoir for as little as $5.95 with Amazon’s current Audible promotion. (You can also listen to it for free with Audible’s 30-day free trial.)

“As a little girl I walked for hours alone in the silent woods behind my house in Louisiana, singing songs,” Spears writes in The Woman in Me‘s prologue. “Being outside gave me a sense of aliveness and danger. When I was growing up, my mother and father fought constantly. He was an alcoholic. I was usually scared in my home. Outside wasn’t necessarily heaven, either, but it was my world. Call it heaven or hell, it was mine.”

Spears’ new memoir The Woman in Me is now available to buy in stores and on Amazon for $19.94.
